These mug cakes are so quick and easy to make! No oven, mixers, washing up needed - just a few ingredients, a mug and a microwave - done in less than 5 minutes!
The Ultimate Chocolate Mug Cake
Ingredients
4 tbsp flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
60ml milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp Nutella (optional)
A few chocolate chips (optional)
Method
1. Add all ingredients (except Nutella) to a large mug and stir very well until combined.
2. Add the Nutella to the middle of the batter.
3. Cook on High for 1 minute - check after a minute and continue in 10 sec increments until cooked through
4. Serve with cream or ice cream - yum!!
Vanilla Mug Cake
Ingredients
6 tbsp flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
60ml milk
2 tbsp butter (or can substitute for vegetable oil)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
1. Melt the butter in a large mug for 10 secs in the microwave.
2. Add all other ingredients and stir very well until combined.
3. Cook on High for 2 minutes - check after two minutes and continue in 10 sec increments until cooked through
4. Serve with cream or ice cream - yum!!
Chocolate/Peanut Butter Mug Cake
Ingredients
4 tbsp flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tbsp peanut butter powder
2 tbsp sugar
60ml milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp peanut butter
Method
1. Add all ingredients (except peanut butter) to a large mug and stir very well until combined.
2. Add the peanut butter to the middle of the batter.
3. Cook on High for 1.5 minutes - check after a minute and continue in 10 sec increments until cooked through
Cinnamon and Blueberry Mug Cake
Ingredients
6 tbsp flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
60ml milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Small handful blueberries
Method
1. Add all ingredients to a large mug and stir very well until combined.
2. Cook on High for 2 minutes - check after two minutes and continue in 10 sec increments until cooked through
3. Serve with cream or ice cream
TIPS:
- Place a piece of kitchen towel underneath your mug in the microwave to catch any overflow
- Try not to overcook your mug cake, best to cook for a shorter time and then put back in for 10 second increments
- Be careful taking it out, it will be very hot!
